Senior Moving & Downsizing

Moving a parent out of a house they've loved for 40 years

A senior move is not a normal move. It's a decision about a thousand objects, made under a deadline, usually by adult children who live somewhere else and have jobs.

There are people who do this work for a living, gently and well. You do not have to be the one carrying boxes down the basement stairs at 11pm.

How we help

  • We build a realistic timeline

Working backward from the move-in date, so nothing important gets decided in a panic on the last weekend.

  • We bring in senior move specialists

Crews who measure the new apartment, plan where the recliner and the photos go, and set up the bedroom first so the first night feels like home.

  • We handle what's left behind

Donation, estate sale, hauling, and — when the house is selling — coordinating all of it around the listing.

  • We keep the family from fighting

A neutral third party asking 'who wants the china?' early prevents a lot of hurt later.

What we can connect you with

  • Senior move managers and downsizing specialists
  • Insured local moving companies familiar with senior communities
  • Packing and unpacking crews
  • Donation pickup and junk removal services
  • Estate sale companies
  • Short-term storage for undecided belongings

An honest note on cost and how this works

Our coordination costs you nothing. You pay the movers directly, at their normal rates.

A full-service senior move within the valley commonly runs $1,500–$4,000 depending on volume and how much sorting help is needed. An estate sale sometimes offsets a large part of that.
